I thought I’d do a quick blog post  to recognize some of my favorite and most inspirational teachers so far in my journey of life.

Personal Angels

There have been many individuals who have entered my life albeit briefly who have had a dramatic impact upon it. These are my personal angels sent to me through divine intervention to bring to me a message or push in a certain direction. I believe in these kind of angels that live on the ground disguised as you and me. The people who for some strange and unknown reason appear in your life and disappear just as quickly yet leave a deep and lasting impression tp help to change the direction of your life.

My personal angels can’t help you but you need to be aware and watchful for when your personal angels enter into your life to have a deep and lasting impact on you.

Wayne Dyer

Often referred to as the ‘father of motivation’. Wayne Dyer has inspired me to search for meaning in my life and to recognize my true purpose and to follow that path. My lessons learned from his spiritual wisdom have really placed me on my current path. He helped me to ask the right questions and how to listen for the answers.  His lessons on Taoism: The Way have helped me to recognize the peaceful path to life. Wayne speaks often about living from the flow of life- it is from this space that true inspiration and the perfection of life exists. He has inspired me to be inspired and to allow life to speak through me.

Yossi Ghinsberg

I cannot thYossi Ghinsberg- Inspriational teacherink of Yossi without tearing up. I had the pleasure of hanging on to his every word for 3 hours at a seminar in Puerto Rico.  Just being in his presence and feeling the divine energy that he emanated raised my vibrational levels to a much higher place. I still feel this whenever I hear his name and will continue to live off this forever. Here is a man of infinite wisdom about the meaning of life and how we are all interconnected. I love Yossi. His embrace was filled with such gentle warmth, love and acceptance. He is always there for me in my dark moments. I listen to his videos and his soft gentle voice immediately brings me back to what is important in life and how everything, no matter how bad, is actually so perfect. He inspires me to not be fearful but instead to serve life and it’s purpose.

Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela has taught me the power of forgiveness. His book ‘The Long Walk to Freedom’ tells an inspirational story of his courageous fight for freedom and the equality of all men. To hear how all he endured living 28 years in a cell just because he dreamed and fought for a better world to then walk away with total forgiveness and reconciliation in is heart, makes me believe in the greatness of man.  He inspires me to live with forgiveness and to strive to be a better person.

There are so many other wonderful teachers who have entered my life at the right moment and inspired me to live my best life. These are the 3 most influential in my life. These are the ones that when I hear their names I stop for a deep breath of divine recognition,  joy, love and  gratitude for the positive impact they have had on my life and for all they do to make this world such a beautiful place.

On your quest for more in your life, you constantly are searching for answers to questions about things you just can’t seem to understand. Asking questions is an important part of your spiritual journey or personal growth. I always tell my students, if you want to learn you have to ask questions and good ones at that. If you’re not asking questions then you are not seeking the knowledge you need to learn and grow.

The next important step in the process is to keep your ears and eyes open to the answers. Most of the time you don’t know where they are coming from so you need to be prepared for when they arrive. For years, I have been trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together as to ‘What am I doing here? ,  ’How does life work?’, ‘Is there really something greater than us out there?’ and ‘Does this higher power really support us and have a purpose for us or do things just happen randomly?

I’m sure these questions run through all our minds at some time and we think we’re never going to find the answers and well most of the time we won’t. But as I said before as long as we’re asking the questions we’re moving closer to the answers. The answers sometimes will arrive when you are fully open and ready to hear them. The old saying goes ‘When the student is ready the teacher will appear’

Listening to Yossi Ghinberg’s story was quite a ride of growth and understanding for me but the full impact was to come when I heard how he eventually was rescued. I remember the moment crystal clear as it was when my world and the meaning of it became so evident. I felt myself open up to lightness, faith and a deep understanding of what life is all about.

Yossi, exhausted and in deep pain, was struggling to keep alive. He had heard the sound of a plane flying overhead and knew someone was searching for him. He had to find his way back to the river bank and get to a clearing so that he may be seen, as it was impossible for him be seen from the bottom of the thick jungle floor.

The plane flying ahead was his friend Kevin who had managed to make it back to a village and begged for help. Reluctantly someone agreed to fly a plane over the jungle to search for Yossi but of course nothing could be seen. Kevin though would not give up, he knew Yossi was alive and he had to find his friend. He pleaded with the villagers to take him upriver in a small motorized canoe to look for him. Of course, the villagers said no. They thought Kevin was crazy. ‘He’s dead,” they told him. It’s the rainy season, he is lost and he is a gringo. None of us could survive and we know this jungle” Kevin also didn’t have any money to pay for the fuel and this was a poor village.

Kevin though would not give up, he just knew Yossi was alive and kept persisting. Eventually one man decided to help Kevin. Who knows why, something inside of him drove him to help him, even though he too truly believed that Yossi was dead. 120 miles they travelled upstream. The driver kept wanting to turn around as it was getting too dangerous but Kevin kept pleading to continue, “Just one more bend, please, just one more bend”

Meanwhile Yossi had found a clearing near the river bank and made his way to it. He no longer heard the signs of the plane and defeated, he collapsed by the river bank just behind some small bushes. In his delirious and exhausted stated he heard a buzzing sound in his ears and thought it was those insects continuing to haunt him and so did not pay it much attention.

The driver of the boat finally told Kevin that was it, they had to turn back now, it was just far too dangerous. He pulled the boat up to the bend and began to turn it around. Kevin broke down into tears, he knew that all hope was gone, that his friend was dead. The boat turned and slowly began to make it’s way back home.

At that same instant, the persistent buzzing noise managed to snap Yossi out of his confused state and he realized what the sound was. The hum of a motorboat. He popped his head up over the reeds and saw Kevin in the boat, with his back to him,  moving away. He was in shock and in such a bad state that he could not even yell out Kevin’s name and he just watched as his one hope of rescue moved away downstream. Then for some reason, Kevin turned his head for one last look in the jungle and in that turn saw Yossi’s head popping out over the reeds.

The tears streamed down my face, for in that very same instant  my questions were answered and I understood the meaning of life and my heart opened up to the truth.  That being that there is a power at work that is far greater than me. I don’t understand it but I don’t have to. All I need to know is that it’s there  and it is serving a higher purpose and I’m a part of it and that is awesome. I am part of the perfect plan of the Universe. I serve a purpose just by being alive.

Life is perfect and everything that happens, happens perfectly whether we like it or not. It is all part of a plan that serves a greater purpose. Yossi’s rescue was not a fluke or a co-incidence. There was a greater power working here to put everything in place for that one turn of Kevin’s head and that one pop up of Yossi’s. Timed to absolute perfection.

Yossi’s rescue from the jungle has allowed him to use all  he learned to change the lives of so many people and to make this world a better place. That is why he experienced those harrowing circumstances.  He was strong enough to survive and wise enough to learn the lessons and then do something effective with them.

Because of Yossi I learned to give up the ‘me’ story. It’s not about me, my ego and all my ego wants. It’s about life and the higher purpose. Life serves life, and I am an instrument to help it grow. Life will support me  and you to become more but you have to serve life. When you begin to live your life from this place amazing things will happen for you. You just have to trust in the perfection of everything that is happening in your life right now. It might not seem like that to you if you’ve just lost your house or job but it’s all part of serving your higher purpose.

In coming to this realization, my worries and problems seemed to fade away and get smaller.  I was able to trust that something perfect was happening here and to let it go and soon that instant will come when I will be rescued and will be propelled into my destiny. The same goes for you. Just let it go and trust in the perfection of life. Remove yourself from the equation and recognize the life force that runs so powerfully through you. When you can open yourself up for this truth,, you allow this life to flow freely from you with such power. Things will get clear for you and come sharply into focus and you will know what you need to do to serve life.

Halfway through Yossi’s talk during the break I met him and he gave me a hug. I felt something so powerful in his embrace, something so warm, so peaceful and so loving. It stayed with me for so long and I couldn’t work out what it was until I had this aha moment. It was life that was coming out from him so powerfully. And life is warm, peaceful, loving, supportive and kind. It supports you, raises you up and allows you to live purposefully when you open up to it.
